When it comes to shoes, there are several types that will carry you through your days. Whether your sartorial goal is slaying the 9-to-5 game or pulling together your weekend looks or both, the shoes you wear can have a big impact both in terms of form and function.
One such shoe style is the gold leather sandal. Given the chance, it will pull together your outfit for your friend’s barbecue, style up your basic jeans and T-shirt for your next run to the post office and perhaps even save you at the next wedding party you attend, when you need to switch out of your heels to dance comfortably.
In a nutshell, the gold leather sandal is a wardrobe superhero. Read on to learn more about why gold leather sandals are an investment you won’t regret.

They can be extremely comfortable
You don’t need to fear breaking an ankle at vertiginous heights. There are plenty of flat and low-heel options with naked straps and simple silhouettes that look just as delicate and gold strappy stiletto sandals. As of late, some of my favorite makers for these are Ancient Greek Sandals, Larroudé, and aeyde. Each takes a different approach to design and therefore has distinct appeals.
Though, if you prefer more height, there are also options to explore on the stiletto front. Gianvito Rossi and Schutz are well-known for their comfortable heels and have a handful of chic gold options on offer every season.
They’ll travel well with you
Due to their versatility and low profile, leather sandals are often great for travel. They’ll save you on a last-minute trip somewhere warm, or even just a quick one for that matter. The clean and classic style is super versatile, working with a chic dress for dinner or pulled on to stroll poolside, so you can save space in your suitcase for other essentials and avoid getting slapped with an overage fee.
If you choose wisely, they’ll last a long time
A great pair of gold sandals is the thing that unfailingly sets, or perfects, your look. Unlike your latest going out top or dress-of-the-moment, some shoe styles—such as a brown leather knee-high boot or a black leather loafer—may go the distance, staying with you long after trends have come and gone. And in those cases, in which the gold leather sandal is included, higher-quality picks make a difference, as they’ll make it through the wear and tear that would destroy their lesser counterparts.
They’re elegant and timeless, so you won’t get sick of them
From slides and strappy flats to open-toed espadrilles and stilettos, there are countless gold leather sandal styles that will provide elegance and timelessness through the years. This is in part because gold is a neutral color, and neutrals are never out. (Though, if a supple gold leather isn’t your style, earthy tones with gold accents are just as versatile.) If you choose your pair(s) with a keen eye for clean lines and medium heel heights, you won’t get sick of them; you’ll simply want to wear them again and again.
Ready to invest in a pair of gold leather sandals?
While you can’t go wrong with a simple slide, a more dramatic pair can really make a summer look. So long as it’s well-made and versatile, whichever pair you choose will be a smart purchase you’re not ever likely to second-guess.
